North Auckland includes New Zealand's oldest marine reserve - Cape Rodney-Okakari Point.

Hauraki Gulf Islands

The Hauraki Gulf have a multitude of islands, including Tiritiri Matangi, Rangitoto, Motutapu and Motuihe islands, Great Barrier, Kawau and Waiheke to name a few. Many of the islands are open to the public to visit.

Central and South Auckland

The Central & South Auckland region has many special places worth visiting, including Fort Takapuna Historic Reserve, Long Bay-Okura Marine Reserve and North Head Historic Reserve.
